Window Cooling Calculator app (WindowCooling)

Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 30, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how the WindowCooling iOS app ("WindowCooling", "we", "us") handles information when you use the app.

Information We Collect

WindowCooling does not require an account and does not collect any personal information for our own use. To provide its recommendations, the app works with two categories of data:

  • Indoor temperature and humidity for your home, used to calculate indoor enthalpy. You either enter this manually or allow the app to access your Bluetooth sensors.
  • Outdoor temperature and humidity for your home, used to calculate outdoor enthalpy. You can enter this manually, allow the app to access your Bluetooth sensors, or configure the app to query Apple Weather with your location.

How We Use This Information

Indoor and outdoor readings are used solely to calculate enthalpy and generate a recommendation about whether opening your windows will help cool or dry your home. This calculation is performed entirely on your device.

Third-Party Services

WindowCooling uses a third-party weather service (Apple Weather) to retrieve outdoor conditions for your approximate location. Your location is sent to that service only for this purpose, and is subject to that provider's own privacy practices.

Data Storage and Sharing

WindowCooling does not have its own servers or accounts, does not use analytics or advertising trackers, and does not sell or share your data with third parties beyond the weather service described above. Readings and calculations remain on your device.

Children's Privacy

WindowCooling is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
